How it started
Boho trader was born in the midst of a pandemic. After being stood down from work and having the time to dream and explore different ideas, it was finally time to put pen to paper and create something that I have always felt I was meant to do.
Having always wanted to start my own business and having a million ideas run through my mind, I always struggled to stick to something I could truly be passionate about, I had a vast set of interests and I found it difficult to settle on the one idea.
Boho trader is an idea that came to me as something that feeds all of my interests. As someone who loves to travel the world, get lost into my creativity and a love for anything home design and interior, having my own boutique homewares store made a lot of sense. I can wander the world selecting beautiful one of a kind and handmade pieces, create art and share some of my favourite artists work, all whilst making your home look beautiful.
It is a niche, but not so much that it is limiting and can grow and change just as I do. It does not confine me to the one idea, it is eclectic.
I’ve always wanted to run my own business, but not at the expense of our planet, with everything that we do, we always have sustainability in mind, our packaging is eco friendly and compostable, our shipping is carbon neutral, we support small businesses for our suppliers, for stock, packaging, business cards etc, always opting for the most sustainable options.
We will be supporting both Australian small business and also overseas with the idea of working closely with suppliers knowing that their practices are ethical, we will not be selling goods that have been cheaply manufactured in large volumes, we are very conscious of our environmental impact and will always opt for handmade and eco friendly low impact goods as well as vintage pieces.
